YNC 2020 VIRTUAL ACTIVITY BANK

NOTE TO PARENTS: The activities for children that are shared in the YNC Camp Activity Bank incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and/or Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). Although activities are grouped by Grade, these are just suggestions. Please feel free to select activities from any category that are engaging and developmentally appropriate for your child(ren). Depending on the grade/age of your child(ren), some activities require more adult assistance and supervision than others. Once provided with materials, middle and high schoolers may be able to complete activities independently or with little adult supervision. 

 

DISCLAIMER: YNC Camp Planning Team Members (hereafter referred to as "YNC Planning Team") are not responsible for any injury, loss, damage, or allergic reaction of any kind sustained by anyone or anything while parents/guardians/caregivers and their child(ren) voluntarily complete activities from the YNC Activity Bank whether indoors or outdoors, at their homes or elsewhere. Prior to starting an activity, parents/guardians/caregivers are responsible for reading through all summaries, materials, and directions and looking at instructional videos to make appropriate substitutions for any type of allergies (food or otherwise) or modifications to activities that require any type of physical exertion. For the personal safety and protection of all participants and personal property, parents/guardians/caregivers are strongly advised to take extra precautions and to closely supervise activities that involve the use of any sharp objects, cutting tools, electrical and heated appliances, sprays, sealants, dyes, clay, etc. Parents/guardians/caregivers acknowledge that there is a risk associated with using the tools, materials, and directions and performing physical techniques included in the YNC Activity Bank. Parents/guardians/caregivers hereby release the YNC Planning Team of all Liability for personal injury or damage to personal property.

Summer Family Outing!

This is a two weekend event with daytime
fellowship and activities for the whole family.


(We will NOT be offering an overnight experience this year.) 
The cost is $15 PER CHILD (under age 18) PER WEEKEND.

(Plus additional costs for adults participating in activities.)

WEEKEND 1: JUNE 26-27

 


Saturday June 26: 10am-2pm Pullen Park Shelter 5
(520 Ashe Ave, Raleigh, NC 27606)
YNC camp activities including Tai Chi with Br. Baaree.

We will provide drinks and snacks for all.

Meals can be purchased at additional cost at the café.

Pullen Park also offers, at a cost, carousel, train and more.



Sunday June 27: 4pm-6pm Urban Air Adventure Park
(7810 Poyner Pond Circle Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27616)
Children receive the Platinum Attractions package

which includes a slice of pizza, bottled water and socks.

Parents enter for free and pay $3 for pizza/bottled water.

Parents participating in Platinum Play pay $20 includes

a slice of pizza, bottled water and socks.
 

 


WEEKEND 2: JULY 10-11

 


Saturday July 10: 10am-2pm Twin Lakes Park large shelter
(435 Chandler Road, Durham NC 27703)
Camp activities: Tai Chi with Br. Baaree and Fishing with Br. Roman.

We will provide snacks, drinks and hot dogs for all.

Twin Lakes also offers playgrounds, soccer fields and more.

 


Sunday July 11: 4pm-6:30pm United Skates of America
(2901 Trawick Rd., Raleigh, 27604)
Children's admission includes skate rental and unlimited food and drink

 (Anyone with our group under 18, pays $15 Registration Fee

even if they don't skate.) Parents not participating must

pay a $3 spectator fee. Parents skating pay $18 which includes

skates & unlimited food and drinks.



SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
 

  • A parent or guardian age 18 and over who is able to transport themselves and their children must stay with their children at all times. (We are not allowing child drop-offs.)

  • We will follow mask and social distancing policies of individual businesses. Please have a mask available for everyone over age 2 for all events.  We will provide hand sanitizer at park shelters.
